POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES Performs data entry related functions. - Ensures data is entered on a timely basis and is accurately processed. - - - Protects the privacy of confidential information. Schedules all surgical cases at University Health Surgery Center - MAC situated within Morgan's Multi-Assistance Center at 5210 Thousand Oaks Dr. in San Antonio, TX. - University Health Surgery Center - MAC is an ambulatory surgery center that offers multiple specialties with a primary focus on catering to the special needs and pediatric population. This position is a backup position in Surgical Services responsible for scheduling and billing. - - Interacts with surgeons, service nurse practitioners, and staff as well as surgical services nursing supervisors on a daily basis. Works independently. Complies with instructions from the supervisor to whom responsible. - EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent experience required. Two years experience in all aspects of surgical block scheduling and case billing preferred. A thorough knowledge of and experience with mainframe patient block scheduling and manual patient billing processes is preferred Functional knowledge of Medical Terminology and medical equipment is preferred
