Job Description:
Central District Brewing Events-focused General Manager
Central District Brewing is an award-winning brewpub located in the
heart of downtown Austin. We are looking for a new team member!
Taproom Responsibilities:
- Manage human resource objectives by recruiting and selecting a
diverse taproom team, training, scheduling, and creating a clean,
safe, friendly environment with the Assistant GM. Responsibilities
include coaching and disciplining employees.
- Develop strong relationships with staff, customers, downtown
businesses, and breweries.
- Participate in weekly strategy reviews with
management.
- Ensure execution of side work and cleaning schedules, along
with preventative maintenance.
Events Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer event inquiries and create event
quotes.
- Expand the events program by networking, advertising, and
gaining repeat clients.
- Plan event details, including layout, catering coordination,
and guest experiences.
- Create detailed contracts and collect payments on
time.
- Manage the event calendar and address potential problems that
may arise with in-house activities.
Marketing Responsibilities:
- Analyze the current customer base and seek growth
opportunities.
- Refine the website.
- Plan social media and analyze efficacy.
- Plan, design, and execute targeted ads when needed.
Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Understanding of Excel, Word, PPT, and Illustrator.
- Highly motivated and well organized.
- Lead by example.
- Effective verbal & written communication skills focusing on
clear and direct feedback.
- Must sample and taste alcoholic products.
- Must have 7-day-a-week availability. Primary days on site are
Monday-Friday with some exceptions during the December holidays and
SXSW.
- Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate early or late
hours.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly & stand/walk for 8+
hours.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in the events industry or managing an
alcoholic establishment.
- Current TABC certification and Food Handler's Certificate (or
able to complete before starting).
Start Date: Immediate
Compensation: TBD based on experience. Parking is provided.
