Psychiatrist- Board Certified
Lackland AFB, TX

SUMMARY. Examines, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats psychiatric disorders.

Position Qualification/Requirements:


oExperience. At least 24 months of experience within the last 36 months.

oCurrent board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

oCompletion of residency or fellowship in psychiatry acceptable to the Surgeon General, HQ USAF.

Specific Duties:

TYPE OF WORK. The duties include but are not limited to the following:

oExamines, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats psychiatric disorders.

oPrepares and reviews case histories and obtains and evaluates data through interview techniques.

oDiagnoses psychiatric disorders.

oPrescribes and evaluates effectiveness of a wide range of therapeutic measures.

oRecommends disposition of psychiatric cases.

oAdvises on problems related to mental health and prevention of mental disorders.

oServes as medical and psychiatric consultant to clinical psychologists and clinical social workers.

oAdvises on kind and quantity of psychiatric supplies and equipment.

oCoordinates psychiatric services with other medical activities.

oInstructs interns and residents in psychiatric principles and procedures.
