your knowledge and expertise! Job Summary for the Nuclear Medicine
Technologist Provides health care services using radionuclides to
assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs nuclear medicine
procedures, and related techniques producing images for the
interpretation by, and at the request of a licensed practitioner.
Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and
maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides
appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions
essential for successful completion of the procedure.
Responsibilities for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Administer prescribed, pharmaceutical grade, radioactive
materials to patients.
- Collect and document data provided by radiation emitted from
human tissue using complex detection and analyzing equipment.
- Perform quality control on all equipment and radioactive
materials in the manner, and at intervals required by policy and
regulation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director or Manager.
Qualifications for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE:
- Associate Degree
- Graduate from AMA approved program for Radiologic Technology
and/or Nuclear Medicine program or equivalent
- Preferred: One to two years of experience in an acute care
setting as Nuclear Medicine Technologist LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:
- Registry in Nuclear Medicine from the American Registry of
Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine
Technologist with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification
Board (NMTCB) required within 90 days of hire
- State Registered Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical
Board
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of
employment start date St. David's Round Rock Medical Center is a
