Role
As the CoS, you will need to be highly organized, detail-oriented,
and able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal
skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with people at
all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Collaborate with the leadership to develop and implement the
studio's strategic plan.
- Conduct market research and analysis to support
decision-making.
- Monitor progress towards goals and report on key performance
indicators.
Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the company.
- Maintain ownership for the company tracker, assigning tasks to
the relevant individual, and ensuring they get completed on time
and to studio standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
Communications
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal
communications.
- Draft and edit internal and external communications, including
emails, presentations, and reports.
Ad-hoc & Project Management
- Take lead in ad-hoc projects, such as launching a new marketing
campaign to attract entrepreneurs by running a small free cohort
for 4 weeks.
- Focus on finding missing skillsets within the team, taking on
execution for those roles, and working towards hiring for those
roles.
- Be involved in the early days of a new project, identifying
what would be required to make it successful and assembling the
right team members.
- Handle operations-related tasks as they arise, deciding whether
to execute them yourself, delegate, or ignore.
What We Are Looking For
- A lot of independent decision-making; we will mentor you to
help you acclimate, but our goal is for you to independently make
decisions and own the outcomes.
- Ability to understand vague ideas and visions and funnel them
into concrete actionable steps.
- Serve as a practical sounding board for ideas we want to
execute (product, marketing, sales, etc.) and plan out what can be
executed right now and what needs to be planned for the
future.
- Strong delegation skills.
- Able to think and execute at both the 30,000 ft & 3 ft
level.
- Experience working at a technology startup (in any role),
familiar with the lifecycle of a startup and the challenges they
face.
What We Aren't Looking For
- Running every product-ownership should reside with the relevant
product owner.
- A person stuck in historical ways of doing things in a slow,
boring, and repetitive manner; you should be thrilled and adept at
adapting new unconventional ways of executing by leveraging
automation and AI.
Examples of Work Involved
- Researching businesses and potential use cases for meetings
with late-stage startups.
- Detailing out programs designed for early-stage startups from
an equity/consulting perspective.
- Working with HR to complete hiring and integration processes
for junior roles.
- Identifying why team members are not adapting to new tools and
taking necessary steps to accomplish this goal.
- Creating a detailed plan of action for onboarding freelancer
PMs.
- Building a reseller program for System Integrators
(SIs).
- Designing an engagement model for impactful advisors to expand
our studio's reach.
