expertise! Job Summary and Qualifications As an MRI Technologist,
you will perform MRI scans and take radiographs according to the
standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of
Radiologic Technologists to assist in diagnosis or treatment.
Performs Magnetic Resonance procedures to demonstrate
cross-sectional anatomical images for interpretation by or at the
request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient
care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful
completion of the procedure.
- You will prepare patients for procedures; providing
instructions in order to obtain desired results, gain cooperation
and minimize anxiety
- You will complete required documentation on forms, logs, work
station and Meditech
- You will administer contrast using proper technique
- You will produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on
patients
- You will label images and identify according to protocol
- You will communicate pertinent information to interpreting
radiologist in a timely mannerJob RequirementsExperience
- One - two years' experience as an MRI Technologist -
preferredEducation
- Graduate of an educational program in radiology or MRI
accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic
Technology (JRCERT) OR graduate of an American Medical Association
approved program in Radiologic Technology or MRI OR an American
Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMIT) degree
program OR military training program of equivalent
standardsLicenses and Certifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's
Healthcare policy
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT (MR within 6 months of hire OR
certification through the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance
Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT)
- Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification
with Texas Medical Board (TMB) - preferred St. David's North Austin
